Yes, and photo engraving on crystal is some of our favorite work. We convert your photograph into a fine dot pattern that the laser reproduces as a frosted image inside the surface of the piece. It suits memorial pieces, anniversary gifts and executive recognition. High-contrast, well-lit photos reproduce best, and you will see a proof before anything is engraved.
What we do is surface engraving: a bright frosted mark cut into the face of the piece, which is what gives crystal awards and ornaments their look. Images that appear to float inside a solid block are a different process, sub-surface laser engraving, and it needs different equipment. Send us a picture of the effect you have in mind and we will tell you straight away which of the two it is.
Crystal engraving takes 3 to 5 business days once you approve the proof. Photo engraving on crystal runs on the same schedule, because the work of converting the image happens at the proof stage rather than on the machine. If the piece is for a ceremony, give us the presentation date and we will work backwards from it.
