Yes, customer-supplied tumblers are very welcome. We engrave Yeti, Stanley, Simple Modern, BrüMate, Hydro Flask, Ozark Trail and most other stainless steel tumblers. Drop them at our Wilmington shop or ship them to us. Send a photo of the color first if you can, because the finish is what decides how much contrast you will get.
No. The laser removes only the outer powder-coat layer to reveal the stainless steel underneath. It never penetrates the steel, so the vacuum between the walls is untouched and the cup holds temperature exactly as well as it did before. This is the same method the brands use for their own engraving.
Dark powder-coated colors give the strongest contrast: black, navy, charcoal and deep matte shades. The engraving reveals bright silver steel underneath, so the darker the coat, the sharper the design looks. Light and pastel colors engrave perfectly well, just with a softer, more subtle result. White cups give the least contrast of all.
Tumbler engraving takes 3 to 5 business days after proof approval, whether it is one cup or fifty. A single tumbler you drop off in Wilmington is often ready sooner than that.
