Leather Engraving Services

Premium laser engraving on genuine and synthetic leather. Custom engraved patches, wallets, belts, keychains, journals, and accessories for branding, gifts, and personal projects.

Leather Engraving Expertise

Leather has a natural warmth and texture that makes it a favorite material for laser engraving. The laser creates a clean, dark mark that contrasts beautifully against the leather surface — perfect for patches, logos, names, and decorative designs. At Victory Laser Engraving, we work with both genuine cowhide and high-quality synthetic leathers.

Our most popular leather engraving projects include custom hat patches, wallets, keychains, belts, journals, coasters, and pet accessories. We also engrave on customer-provided leather goods. The laser process creates a slightly recessed mark with a smooth, burnished appearance that's permanent and won't wear off.

Leather Engraving Advantages

Natural material, permanent results.

Distinctive Look

Laser-engraved leather has a unique, burnished appearance that looks premium and handmade. The contrast between dark engraving and natural leather is striking.

Permanent Mark

Unlike stamped or printed leather, laser engraving permanently burns the design into the leather surface. It won't fade, crack, or peel with use.

Genuine & Synthetic

We work with both genuine cowhide and high-quality PU leather. Both engrave well — genuine leather produces a more natural, varied tone while synthetic offers consistency.

Custom Shapes

We laser-cut leather patches and pieces in any shape — circles, shields, custom outlines, or intricate silhouettes — before or after engraving.

Great for Branding

Leather patches with engraved logos are one of the most popular corporate branding items. They're used on hats, bags, uniforms, and promotional products.

Leather Engraving FAQs

Answers about leather engraving.

What types of leather engrave best?

Full-grain and top-grain genuine leather produce the best results with rich, consistent burn marks. Finished or coated leathers may engrave differently depending on the treatment. Suede and nubuck can be engraved but produce a subtler mark. We recommend testing a sample area for best results on unfamiliar leathers.

Does leather engraving have a smell?

Laser engraving leather produces a brief burning smell similar to a campfire or burnt hair (depending on the leather type). This dissipates quickly and is not noticeable after the leather is cleaned. We use vented systems to minimize any lingering odor.

Can I provide my own leather item for engraving?

Absolutely. We frequently engrave on customer-provided leather goods — wallets, belts, purses, journals, and more. Drop off your item at our Wilmington location and we'll assess it. We'll let you know if there are any concerns before proceeding.

How do I care for engraved leather?

Care for your engraved leather just as you would any quality leather item. Clean with a damp cloth (not soaking wet), condition with leather conditioner every few months, and avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or heat. The engraving is permanent and will last the life of the leather with proper care.
