Genuine cowhide in brown, black, tan, burgundy and more, or a good synthetic leather that looks and feels close to the real thing. Both engrave cleanly. Choose genuine cowhide when the hat is a gift or a premium piece, and synthetic when you are ordering in quantity and want the budget to go further.
Yes. Send us the hats and we will make the patches and attach them. We do need the hats in hand before we make the patches, because the crown shape and the panel seams decide the patch size and where it can sit. If you would rather we handled the whole thing, we source hats too.
Twelve hats is the minimum when we supply and finish them. Patch-only orders, where we engrave and cut the patches and you attach them yourself, have no minimum at all. Volume pricing starts above twelve, which is what makes patch hats work as promotional merchandise rather than just as gifts.
Spot clean them. The hat itself can be hand washed gently, but keep the leather patch out of the water: submerging or machine washing leather is what makes it stiffen and curl. The engraving is burned into the hide and will not fade, so with sensible cleaning the patch outlasts the hat.
