25 mm or 30 mm?
Go smaller for a single initial or a simple monogram. The 30 mm gives a design more room, though a bigger face does not make fine detail work in wax. Hold the design against your actual envelope, tag, or stationery before you choose. A long name and a detailed border fight for the same space, so simplifying usually reads better.
What comes with the stamp?
An engraved brass head and a wooden handle. Wax, envelopes and ready-made adhesive seals are not included, though we do sell sealing wax separately. If what you actually want is a box of finished seals rather than a reusable stamp, send us a custom request with the quantity and we will quote that instead. One design per cart item, so add a second item for a second design.
Why does the preview read forward?
Because we show it the way you read it, so you can check initials, dates, and spelling. The stamp itself gets engraved in reverse so the impression comes out right. Do not mirror your artwork yourself unless we ask you to. Use the proof to sort out small text, spacing, and the outer border.
How do I get a clean impression?
Follow your wax supplier's guidance on temperature, cooling, and release, and practice on scrap before you touch the real invitations. Let the wax set before you lift. Keep the head clean without scratching the engraved face, and ask us about any residue that will not come off gently. Test your wax and paper together, since not every combination releases the same way.
How long does it take?
3 to 5 business days after you approve the proof, and pickup is at our Wilmington shop by appointment. If you are working to an invitation deadline, send that date with your design and we will tell you straight away whether it fits. Detailed designs sometimes need a test impression in wax first, and we would rather do that than have you discover it after the seals are cut.
